Barbara Rhode has been a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and group therapy for over 25 years. She maintains a private practice in St. Petersburg, Florida while also providing workshops to colleges, corporations and nonprofit agencies throughout the country. Barbara worked collaboratively for 12 years with a Board Certified Psychiatrist, receiving supervision and training in the assessment and treatment of mood disorders, clinically treating depression and anxiety disorders, and providing group interventions for clients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Trichotillomania. She spoke at the National Conference for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and also presented at the National Conference for Marriage & Family Therapists on "Adolescents & The Effects of Technology." From 2009 - 2011, Barbara worked with Military OneSource providing risk assessments and interventions to military members and their families throughout the world. She is currently a Clinical Supervisor for interns working towards licensure and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist assisting in trauma resolution & the treatment of PTSD.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, and a graduate of Nova University, Barbara specializes in individual and couple's enhanced growth, trauma resolution, cognitive behavioral therapy and relationship building skills; improving relationships within families and between partners. Barbara co-authored "Launching: Parenting Your Child to College and Beyond," currently on sale through Amazon and is a key note speaker at Eckerd College's annual Parent Orientation. She has published articles in the St. Petersburg Time's Wellness Section on a variety of topics including: stress management, mindfulness practices and relationship solutions.
